What’s a Periwinke Smother? 👀

A huge shout-out to the 30 incredible volunteers who planted 62 trees at @HamiltonConservation’s Devil’s Punchbowl on April 19th! Together, we’re improving air quality, beautifying the landscape, and helping to fight climate change—one tree at a time. Some of these beauties were over 12 feet tall! 💪🌲

This prestigious award celebrates young leaders who demonstrate a commitment to environmental stewardship through impactful initiatives, research, and community involvement.

Ofure and Areeb are co-founders and executive members of the Hamilton Sustainability Action Project. HSAP provides students and community members with meaningful, action-based volunteer experience through engagement with small-medium sized volunteer-organizations for reciprocal benefit.

Ofure and Areeb will be co-leading a tree planting event on April 26th in Westdale near McMaster. Come join them, make a difference, and have some fun! 🌱
